Look back over 2014. What have you seen God do? It’s great to remember and praise God for the ways he has grown and provided for us.
Here’s a prayer to help you open your eyes…
Lord, I come to you and give you time and space to speak, to act, to show me who you are. Help me to listen to what you want to say to me about 2015.
As we begin, I give you the thoughts that are on my mind…
(Name the things you’re thinking about, that might come to distract you).
The year ahead… what are your plans and ideas, Lord?!
(Leave some space. Whatever pops into mind, name it)
Is there anything new you want me to be aware of?
Jot down what springs to mind.
I said to God…
Jot down the things you’ve expressed to God during this time.
I think God was saying to me…
Jot down what sprung mind when you were praying.
Is there someone you can talk this over with?
Find a trusted friend, youth leader or parent and chat through any exciting things it has raised or questions you have. Together, pray about the possibilities that have arisen.
Are there any things you will need to overcome in order to follow what God’s calling you to?
Jot them down too…
Feeling hopeless? Has your quest for God and his plan left you frustrated?
Don’t worry! Learning to hear God takes time. Sometimes it seems easy, and other times it seems harder. Keep looking out for him in all areas of your life… you might be surprised where you’ll find him or how he’ll try and speak to you.
Let us know how you get on. We pray for all the people thinking about going overseas on one of our trips, and if you’ve made it this far down the page, you are definitely in our prayers!
